During his recent visit to Detroit for the North American International Auto Show Kia Motors America President Byung Mo Ahn paid a visit to metro Detroit Kia dealer Summit Place Kia.

Here at Summit Place Kia, we are proud to sell the entire line of high quality, affordable, fuel efficient Kia vehicles. So you can imagine our surprise and delight when we learned that Kia Motors President Byung Mo Ahn would be taking time out from his busy schedule, which included the Detroit Auto Show, to visit our dealership on Tuesday, January 13th.
For those of you not familiar with him, Mr. Ahn graduated from Hankuk University in Korea and joined Hyundai in 1977, before Kia became part or the organization. Since that time, he has held various positions with Kia Motors Corporation and Hyundai Motor Company including president of Hyundai Precision America and Hyundai de Mexico (1991). From 1999 through 2001, Mr. Ahn was president and CEO of Kia Motors America. In February of 2008, he was named group president and CEO of Kia Motors America (KMA) and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG). He also holds the title of president at Kia Motors Corporation.

Dealership Tour
Mr. Ahn’s visit to Summit Place Kia on Tuesday morning lasted more than an hour and included a guided tour of our dealership by Rich LaLonde, owner of Summit Place Kia. The tour included a walk-through of the service area, service write-up and service drive, as well as the new car showroom. The tour group also stopped by our remodeled service waiting area that features a Samsung flat screen TV for our customer’s enjoyment.

After returning to the showroom, Mr. Ahn was presented with a package that included tokens of appreciation from Rich LaLonde as well as the staff of Summit Place Kia. Following that, he posed for pictures with the management of Summit Place Kia as well as with the entire staff of the dealership. Before leaving, he graciously shook everyone’s hand.
