The latest research study by Insure.com reveals that three Kia models placed in the top 5 least expensive vehicles to insure out of almost 300 vehicles for model year 1999.

But it turns out that we also sell three of the most affordable cars to insure in the U.S. According to the results from an extensive new research study conducted by Insure.com, three of the top 5 most affordable new cars to insure in 2009 are Kias.

According to Insure.com, “Low insurance rates tend to reflect a vehicle’s safety because drivers of those models have submitted fewer and less-expensive insurance claims.”
Of the three Kia models in the top five, the Kia Sportage SUV placed second, the Kia Sedona was in fourth place as the least expensive minivan to insure, while the Kia Rio5 rounded out the list at number five.
“If you’re looking to get the lowest car insurance price possible, these rankings can point you in the direction of vehicles that can help you get there,” said Amy Danise, editor of Insure.com. “Maintaining a good driving history and good credit are also crucial to getting good rates.”
Other ways to save
Insure.com also had a number of other tips to help you save on your car insurance bill:
• Trade higher deductibles for lower premiums – but make sure you can afford your deductible in case you crash your car
• Drop collision and comprehensive on older cars, especially vehicles with low resale value.
• Make sure you’re getting all the discounts to which you’re entitled.
• Have you recently installed a car alarm, lowered your annual mileage or even changed jobs? All these could qualify you for a discount.
• Buy your home/renters policy and car insurance policy from the same company, for a multiline discount.

I am looking for some kind of affordable auto insurance for both personal and business. I hate to admit it but I have gone for periods of time without insurance. Fortunately I did not have any accidents. Although I have not had a traffic tickets in over 5 years, I still think they are using them against me when it is time to get an insurance quote.
