At Summit Place Kia in metro Detroit we are proud to announce that Kia’s global sales for May of this year totaled 141,949 new Kias – an 11.5% increase over May of 2008, while cumulative sales for all of 2009 reached 590,934 – a 0.5 % increase over last year. And while this increase ma not seem like much, it has to be remembered that most manufactures are currently trailing the sales figures they produced last year by a wide margin – especially those companies that specialize in small cars, since last spring marked the beginning of the run-up in fuel prices here in the U.S.

Here is the press release from Kia:

I like the Sportage, it has a roomy cabin and an impressive 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty and good value especially for those who have a tight budget.
