Despite the continuing challenging market conditions in metro Detroit as well as the rest of the country, we are happy to say that at Summit Place Kia as well as in the rest of the United States that Kia is certainly on a bit of a roll this year. In their latest sales figures, released this week, the company reports a fourth consecutive month of increased sales, with sales of both the Optima and the Rio up significantly over last month.

IRVINE, Calif., July 1, 2009 – Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced June sales of 26,845 units, and year-to-date sales of 147,404 total units. KMA posted its fourth consecutive month of increased sales, up 3 percent from May. Optima and Rio posted significant month-over-month increases of 57 percent and 46.9 percent respectively. In addition to healthy Optima and Rio sales, Sportage recorded strong sales of 6,267 units in June, a 42.1-percent increase over May sales of 4,409.
