The view from the Summit

At Summit Place Kia in metro Detroit, we normally write a couple of articles a week about the latest news from Kia Motors. But although we’ve already written two articles this week, the latest news from the second day of press previews at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show has prompted us to write a third. This is because we’ve just found out that NADAguides.com, one of the best known online consumer automotive resources, has just named the 2010 Kia Forte its Car of the Year.

The new Forte was recognized above its competition for offering new-edge styling, value and fuel efficiency – attributes that we have been pointing out to our customers since we began selling the Forte earlier this year. So without further ado, here is the official press release from Kia Motors America:

(Seoul) December 3, 2009 – Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the recently launched Kia Forte was named ‘Car of the Year’ by NADAguides.com, a well-respected online automotive source.  The announcement comes on the heels of being named ‘Car of the Month; for August by the same consumer resource for its attractive styling, value and extensive list of class-leading features.

“Consumers as well as dealers have come to recognize the Kia Motors brand for having attractively designed and priced vehicles with impressive fuel efficiency and a long list of standard safety features all backed by an industry-leading warranty; the all-new Forte and Forte Koup are no exceptions,” said Michael Sprague, Vice President, Marketing of KMA.  “Forte is a very strong contender in the popular compact segment and has definitely helped us continue to raise our brand awareness.”

The editors at NADAguides.com carefully review the vehicles previously chosen as ‘Car of the Month’ to select the most deserving ‘Car of the Year.’  To be eligible, vehicles must be new for the model year and have a combination of impressive styling, fuel efficiency, low price point and cost of ownership.
