Here at Summit Place Kia in metro Detroit, we’ve written quite a bit recently about the 2010 Kia Soul and the 2010 Kia Forte and Kia Forte Koup. Consumer Guide Awards
We were reminded of that fact earlier this week when both the Kia Rio and the Kia Rondo were selected as 2010 Consumer Guide Automotive Recommended Vehicles. Right after the announcement was made, Kia Motors had this to say:
Kia Motors America announced its popular subcompact and midsize CUVs, Kia Rio and Rondo, have been selected as 2010 Consumer Guide Automotive Recommended Vehicles for the vehicle’s offerings of quality, comfort, function and value.
“Receiving the 2010 Consumer Guide Automotive Recommended Vehicle designation is a tribute to the ongoing evolution and continued improvement of the Kia brand,” said Michael Sprague, Vice President, Marketing, KMA. “This distinction from such a trusted automotive resource reinforces to consumers our commitment to providing the highest quality vehicles infused with great design, value, safety features, utility and practicality.”
In the process of selecting its “Recommended Vehicles”, Consumer Guide editors reviewed and picked the vehicles that they considered the best among 18 different categories that include subcompact, compact, midsize, premium, large, premium large and sporty/performance cars and four different categories of SUV’s.
About.com award
In addition to its Consumer Guide award, the Kia Rondo was named to About.com’s “Best Family Cars Under $20,000” list. The consumer resource web site reviewed and picked a number of 2009 and 2010 model year vehicles, culminating in the selection of the top 10 cars that they believed offered families the best combination of value, comfort and seating for less than $20,000.
“In today’s economy, consumers are constantly looking for ways to save money while retaining quality, and Rondo offers the functionality and safety of a minivan or SUV without the heft, low fuel economy or high price tag,” said Sprague.
